Dear men, please come and explain this. How do you guys reason?

So according to reports, Johnny Depp, 51, is
getting ready to marry his girlfriend, Amber
Heard, 28, next weekend on his private
Bahamian Island. According to Page Six, the
wedding will hold over the weekend of
February 7-8 and about 50 guests have been
invited to the wedding.
Johnny began officially dating Amber Heard in
2012, a few weeks after he announced his
separation from French actress and singer
Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two
children.
Johnny was with Vanessa for 14 years and they
had two children together but he never gave
her a ring. During an interview in 2009,
Vanessa said she'd never been married, that it
was something she was looking forward to one
day...hopefully with the father of her children.
Johnny later did an interview saying he'd been
married once and now understands you don't
need a paper to define your relationship with
someone you love, so it wasn't something he
was eager to do again.
So two years after dating Amber, he's now
ready to try marriage for a second time, but
not with a woman who was with him for 14
years. Men please, oya explain how you people reason...:-)

50cent's ex-girlfriend accuses him of abuse after he mocks her on instagram

So here's what happened. A few days ago, MTO
did a post on one of 50 Cent's former
girlfriends, named Holly. When the rapper saw
the post, he reposted it on his instagram
labeling her community Puzzy. When Holly saw
what 50cent put on instagram, she got into a
nasty fight with him and made some shocking
claims. She said 50 Cent physically assaulted.
When some followers didn't believe her, Holly
then posted messages between herself and 50
Cent where she threatened to release pictures
of her battered body. See it after the cut...

Last year rapper 50 Cent was arrested for
attacking his baby mama Daphne Joy so this is
easy to believe!

Graphic pics: Executed ISIS fighters lined up in the ruins of border town of Kobane

Kurdish fighters killed more than 20 ISIS
militants during continued fighting in the
villages around Kobane which was liberated
earlier this week after months of bitter street
fighting. In one village, a Kurd was today
pictured standing over the bodies of Islamic
extremists after they were killed in Halimce, a
village east of the town...
Kurdish forces recaptured the town on
January 26 in a symbolic blow to the jihadists
who have seized large swathes of territory in
their onslaught across Syria and Iraq. But the
town is now characterised by demolished
buildings, with heavily armed fighters roaming
otherwise deserted, rubble-strewn streets.
Although their town has been liberated,
thousands of residents are now settling into
Turkey's newest refugee camp for an indefinite
stay and have been warned not to return until
the area has been fully secured. (Courtesy - UK

A Quiet Revolution in Helping Lift the Burden of Student Debt

In his State of the Union address last
week, President Obama encouraged
the development of “precision
medicine,” which would tailor
treatments based on individuals’
genetics or physiology . This is an
effort to improve medical care’s
effectiveness, which might cause some
to wonder: Don’t we already have
effective drugs and treatments? In
truth, medical care is often far less
effective than most believe. Just
because you took some medicine for
an illness and became well again, it
doesn’t necessarily mean that the
treatment provided the cure.
This fundamental lesson is conveyed
by a metric known as the number
needed to treat, or N.N.T. Developed
in the 1980s , the N.N.T. tells us how
many people must be treated for one
person to derive benefit. An N.N.T. of
one would mean every person treated
improves and every person not
treated fails to, which is how we tend
to think most therapies work.
What may surprise you is that N.N.T.s
are often much higher than one.
Double- and even triple-digit N.N.T.s
are common.
Consider aspirin for heart attack
prevention. Based upon both
modifiable risk factors like cholesterol
level and smoking, and factors that
are beyond one’s control, like family
history and age, it is possible to
calculate the chance that a person will
have a first heart attack in the next 10
years. The American Heart Association
recommends that people who have
more than a 10 percent chance take a
daily aspirin to avoid that heart
attack.
How effective is aspirin for that aim?
According to clinical trials, if about
2,000 people follow these guidelines
over a two-year period, one additional
first heart attack will be prevented.
That doesn’t mean the 1,999 other
people have heart attacks. The fact is,
on average about 3.6 of them would
have a first heart attack regardless of
whether they took the aspirin. Even
more important, 1,995.4 people would
never have a heart attack whether or
not they took aspirin. Only one person
is actually affected by aspirin. If he
takes it, the number of people who
remain heart attack-free rises to
1996.4. If he doesn’t, the number
remains 1995.4. But for 1,999 of the
2,000 people, aspirin doesn’t make
any difference at all.
Of course, nobody knows if they’re the
lucky one for whom aspirin is helpful.
So, if aspirin is cheap and doesn’t
cause much harm, it might be worth
taking, even if the chances of benefit
are small. But this already reflects a
trade-off we rarely consider
rationally. (And many treatments do
cause harm. There is a complementary
metric known as the number needed
to harm, or N.N.H., which says that if
that number of people are treated, one
additional person will have a specific
negative outcome. For some
treatments, N.N.T. can be higher than
the number needed to harm,
indicating more people are harmed
than successfully treated.)
Not all N.N.T.s are as high as aspirin’s
for heart attacks, but many are higher
than you might think. A website
developed by David Newman, a
director of clinical research at Icahn
School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
hospital, and Dr. Graham Walker, an
assistant clinical professor at the
University of California, San
Francisco, has become a clearinghouse
of N.N.T. data, amassed from clinical
trials. Among them, for example, are
those for the effects of the
Mediterranean diet.
The Mediterranean diet, which is
heavy in vegetables, fruits, nuts and
olive oil; moderate in fish and poultry;
and light in dairy, meat and sweets;
has long been advocated as a means
to avoid heart disease . In people who
have never had a heart attack, but
who are at risk, the N.N.T. is 61 to
avoid a heart attack, stroke or death.
And that is for people who adhere to
the diet for about five years. For those
at higher risk, who have already had a
heart attack, to avoid one additional
death, the N.N.T. is about 30 . That’s
the number of people who would have
to adhere to the diet for four years so
that one extra person survived. About
1.4 people out of 30 such people will
die no matter what they eat; 27.6 will
not die no matter what they eat. Only
one will benefit from sticking to the
diet.
But it’s not easy for everyone to stick
to such a diet for that many years.
Some — for example, those who enjoy
steak and ice cream — will feel that it
diminishes their quality of life. When
you hear that the diet prevents heart
attacks, then it might sound worth it.
But does it still sound worth it when
you consider that 29 out of 30 people
who stick to the diet for several years
see no benefit at all? Will you stick to
it for years and be the lucky one for
whom that matters?
As treatments go, an N.N.T. of 30 is
pretty good. Very few are as low as 10,
though some are. For instance, the use
of steroids in people having asthma
attacks to prevent admission to the
hospital has an N.N.T. of eight . This is
so obvious, and so powerful a
treatment, that there are no
commercials and no op-eds preaching
steroid use for asthma. (Maybe there
should be. It’s likely that this therapy
is being underutilized, perhaps
because cost-sharing discourages some
people with asthma from seeking care
when they might need it.) Steroids
work very well for asthma attacks —
better than many treatments for other
conditions. But still, seven of eight
people suffering an asthma attack see
no benefit at all from steroids with
respect to preventing hospitalization.
Even more concerning, N.N.T.s as
calculated from clinical trial data are
probably lower than those based on
real-world medical care. In clinical
trials, treatments are applied to a
select population for whom they’re
intended. In medical practice, it’s very
common for treatments to be applied
to a much broader population,
including many people for whom
they’re less likely to be effective,
which increases the N.N.T. This is,
perhaps, because doctors would rather
offer an explicit treatment — perhaps
to harness a placebo effect — even
when it’s not likely to be of additional
benefit.
In fact, as recently reported in The
Times , a new study showed that many
people who are prescribed aspirin for
the primary prevention of
cardiovascular disease don’t meet the
criteria described above for its use.
Because of this use in a population
beyond that targeted in clinical trials,
the N.N.T. in practice is most likely
higher than the 2,000 suggested by
those trials. (It’s worth noting that our
best estimates of N.N.T.s can rise or
fall as more data are collected and as
treatments or how or to whom they’re
delivered change.)
Antibiotics are a classic example of
overuse. For instance, the N.N.T. for
antibiotics to treat radiologically
diagnosed acute sinusitis is 15,
meaning that 14 out of 15 who take
them derive no benefit. But physicians
often write prescriptions for
antibiotics in situations when the
diagnosis of sinusitis is far less
assured. This leads to antibiotics being
overprescribed and overused, raising
their N.N.T. in practice.
The use of stents to open up clogged
arteries in patients who are not
actively suffering a heart attack is
another treatment that is employed
too often. (Stents are considered
appropriate in patients who are
having a heart attack.) Many more
patients believe they extend life than
their N.N.T. suggests. The N.N.T is
effectively infinite, relative to
treatment with medications, for
people not suffering a heart attack.
Until health care technology improves,
there’s not a lot we can do about
N.N.T.s that are larger than we might
hope. It’s just a fact of current
medical technology that not everyone
benefits from treatment, even when
well targeted. President Obama’s push
for “ precision medicine ” is an attempt
to change this, by using genomics to
focus treatments on people who would
most benefit from them. That will take
time.
In the meantime, we would all be
better served by a more informed
understanding of exactly how much,
or how little, benefit is reasonably to
be expected by taking a drug,
changing our lifestyle or undergoing a
procedure. Especially since the chance
of benefit, as expressed by N.N.T.,
might not be worth the risk of harm,
as expressed by N.N.H. We’ll discuss
that more next week.

Nigerian Passport Listed As One Of The Least Powerful Passports In The World

With a passport from the United States you
have access to 172 other countries. With a
passport from the United Kingdom you have
access to 173 other countries.
With a passport from Nigeria you have access
to 42 countries.
With a passport from Afghanistan you have
access to 28 countries – making it the least
powerful passport, according to this
infographic map.
Recently Nigerian-born actor Dayo Okeniyi
was excited to announce that he had become
an American citizen and a few days before
him footballer Mikel Obi announced his
British citizenship – with this infographic it
doesn’t seem strange that Nigerians work
hard to get dual citizenship from other
countries.
This infographic, put together by GOOD,
shows countries (in a colour coded format)
that have the most powerful passports and
those that have the least, using their
accessibility to other countries.
The darker the colour, the more freedom that
country’s residents have to travel. Orange
colours mean residents can visit fewer
countries with their passports. How
powerful is yours?

16 MAKEUP TRICKS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

From the editors of Cosmo.com,
quirky beauty hacks to make getting
ready easier.
1. Turn a pencil eyeliner into a gel formula
with the help of a match or lighter.
Hold your black, green, burgundy, etc., kohl
eye pencil (which typically creates a thin,
harder to apply line), under the flame for
literally one second, let it cool for 15 seconds,
and then watch the consistency change right
before your eyes. Finally, glide on your newly
made gel liner for an instantly smudgier
formula.
2. Cover your eyelid with white liner to make
any eyeshadow shade pop.
To make a sheer or less pigmented
eyeshadow appear more colorful on your
eyelid, take a white eyeliner pencil, like Make
Up For Ever Kohl Eye Pencil in White, and run
it over your entire eyelid. The opaque
consistency of the liner will intensify any
eyeshadow shade and make it pop instantly
against your skin. (Tip via makeup artist
Lauren Cosenza, founder of Divalicious Blog.)
3. Draw your cat eye first, and then fill in the
open space for a perfect winged liner
application every single time.
It's much easier this way.

4. Use a spoon to create the perfect winged
liner.
Holding the stem of a spoon against the outer
corner of your eye, draw the straight line as
the first step for your cat eye. Then, flip the
spoon so it's hugging your eyelid, and use the
rounded outer edge to create a perfectly
curved winged effect.

5. Draw a slanted hashtag at the outer corner
of your eye, and then blend it for an instantly
smoky effect.
Left: Before; Right: After
To create a super-easy smoky eye, draw a
hashtag symbol right before the outer corner
of your eye and then blend it out with the
smudger at the other end of your eye liner.

6. Use that same spoon to avoid mascara
marks on your upper eye lid.
Hold the spoon so it's hugging your eyelid,
and then apply your mascara like you
normally would. As you sweep the mascara
wand against your lashes and back of the
spoon, watch as the residue coats the back of
the utensil rather than your skin.
7. Hit your eyelash curler with a hair dryer to
heat it up, so your lashes curl easier.
Blowing hot air on your eyelash curler will
help your lashes curl easier and stay curled
longer; it works the same way heat changes
the pattern of your hair and holds a curl with
a curling iron. To do it, hit the lash curler with
your blow dryer until it heats up, wait until it
cools slightly but it still warm (you don't want
to be sure not to burn your eyelid skin), and
then clamp down on your lashes to curl them.

8. Dust on translucent powder in between
coating on mascara to plump up your lashes.
The translucent powder helps grip the
mascara in between coats, leaving you with
fuller lashes.
9. Apply eyelash glue to false lashes with the
tip of a clean bobby pin.
Use the tip of a bobby pin to evenly disperse
the glue along the base of your falsies. Then,
wait a few seconds for the glue to get tacky
and apply!

10. For long-lasting lip color, swipe on your
shade, lay a tissue over your mouth, and then
dust translucent powder over it to set the
color.
This process may seem extensive, but the
payoff is worth it. Not only does the
translucent powder set the shade, making it
instantly long-wearing, but the tissue acts as
a shield to your lip color, protecting it from
lightening or losing it's vibrancy. (Translucent
powder, even though it's supposed to be
clear, still has a subtle white tint to it that can
alter your lip shade.) (Tip via makeup artist
Lauren Cosenza.)

11. Mix loose pigments with a salve or
petroleum jelly to make your own custom lip
gloss.
If you have loose eyeshadow pigments that
you're obsessed with and want to wear it as a
lip shade, blend it with a little bit of a salve,
like VMV Hypoallergenics Boo-Boo Balm, or
petroleum jelly in a spoon and swipe it onto
your lips. Voilà!
12. Perfect your cupid's bow by drawing an
"X" on your upper lip first as a guideline.
To make the cupid's bow part of your pout
look perfect, the easiest and quickest way is
to take a lip liner in the same shade as your
lipstick and create an "X" at your cupid's
bow. Then, apply your lipstick as you
normally would and voila!

13. Conceal dark circles and puffy eyes the
right way by creating a triangle with your
cover-up.
You might be a fan of dotting on your
concealer in the spots you need it, but the
best way is it to actually apply it in a
triangular formation with the base of the
triangle directly under your lashline and the
point toward the bottom of your cheek. This
shape helps conceal any redness at the
bottom of your eye and at the sides, and then
instantly creates the illusion that your face is
lifted, since the brightest point is the most
intense under your eye.
14. Make contouring look more natural by
using a pencil, pen, or makeup brush handle
as your guide to finding exactly where your
cheekbone is.
Not everyone's face is created equal, so
where your BFF might be applying her bronzer
might not be the best place for you to
contour. To tell where you should be dusting
on bronzer, roll a pencil, pen, or makeup brush
stem right below your cheekbone (directly in
the pocket underneath the actual bone) to find
the right angle for your face. Once you've
found the correct placement, dust some
bronzer on your face using a contouring
brush, and then diffuse the color so it looks
natural. (Tip via makeup artist Lauren
Cosenza.)

15. Map the contours of your face with a gel
eyebrow pencil, since it's easier to apply
precisely and blend in.
After you've applied your base, mark the
areas you want to contour — the hollows
under your cheekbones, your temples, along
your hairline, jawline, the sides of your nose,
the tip of the nose, and the crease of your
eyes — with a deeply-colored brow gel pencil,
like IT Cosmetics Brow Power Perfector Gel
Pencil in Auburn. Brow gel pencils are really
concentrated, yet very smudgeable and it's
easy to control the placement of their dark
pigment, making it perfect for contouring.
Next, use an all-over cream highlighter, like
Mac Cosmetics Cream Colour Base in Luna,
on the tops of your cheekbones, on the center
of your forehead, the bridge of your nose, the
center of your chin, and on your cupids bow.
(Tip via makeup artist Lauren Cosenza.)
16. Blot your face in a pinch with a clean
toilet seat cover.
Initially, yes, this sounds gross, but both
blotting papers and toilet seat covers are
made out of similar fabrics and will help sop
up excess oil on your skin. So, if you're in a
pinch and headed to the bathroom to freshen
up anyway, grab one of these covers and pat
it over your skin to decrease any excess oil on
your face.

US Refuses To Sell Cobra Attack Helicopters To Nigeria Bcos It’ ll Violate Boko Haram Human Rights

Nov 14, 2014 – US Refuses To Sell Cobra Attack
Helicopters & Lethal Weapons To Nigeria Bcos
It’ll Violate Boko Haram Human Rights – Jen
Psaki
US State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki
on Wednesday responded to allegations raised
by Nigeria’s ambassador to the United States,
Adefuye that the US is not helping Nigeria to
battle Boko Haram effectively.
In response to Adefuye’s allegation, Jen Psaki
on Wednesday told journalists why America has
decided not to sell lethal weapons and powerful
Cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria
In her own words:
“Nigeria has purchased helicopters that originated
in countries other than the US and nothing in our
decision prevents Nigeria from obtaining weapons
and equipment from other sources,”.
“The U.S. government has up till today refused to
grant Nigeria’s request to purchase lethal
equipment that would have brought down the
terrorists within a short time on the basis of the
allegations that Nigeria’s defence forces have
been violating human rights of Boko Haram
suspects when captured or arrested.
“We find it difficult to understand how and why, in
spite of the U.S. presence in Nigeria, with their
sophisticated military technology, Boko Haram
should be expanding and becoming more deadly.”

But Psaki said that the US refused to sell Cobra
attack helicopters to Nigeria due to concerns
about the ability of the military to use and
maintain them.
“Earlier this year, we denied the transfer of some
cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria due to
concerns about Nigeria’s ability to use and
maintain this type of helicopter in its effort
against Boko Haram and ongoing concerns about
the Nigerian military’s protection of civilians when
conducting military operations. We shared those
concerns with Nigeria before this decision and
subsequent to it.
“We’ll continue to look for ways to deepen our
cooperation with Nigeria to help it acquire the
systems and skills needed to restore peace and
security. But obviously, we’ve provided a great
deal of assistance over the past several months.”

“They Created Ebola Virus To Kill Africans & Killed Him For Bringing It To America ” – Eric Duncan’ s Sister Fumes

“America invented the Ebola virus to ‘kill Africans’
and deliberately left victim Thomas Eric Duncan to
die ‘like a dog’ in revenge for bringing the disease
into the U.S, his sister claimed yesterday.
In a brief chat with Daily Mail, Mary Pearson,
the sister of Liberian man who died of Ebola in
America, Eric Duncan claimed America created
Ebola to depopulate Africa and reduce the
number of black people in the world.
Hear what the 52-year-old trader in Monrovia
told Daily Mail:
‘What we heard is that Ebola was created by the
Americans and they sent it to kill us.
Eric suffered in exile and it really hurts me. They
didn’t feel sorry for him. They didn’t give him
drugs. They had the means to treat him but they
treated him like a dog.
‘They are wicked. They didn’t treat him because
they said he brought Ebola to America.’
Out of the 9 people treated for Ebola in the US,
only Eric Duncan died.
His Nephew Josephus Weeks said all effort by
the family to get doctors to help Duncan failed
because they’re not willing to help him.
‘We begged. We pleaded. I even offered my own
blood, even though it wouldn’t do anything for
him. We requested everything we could think of to
save Eric. They said no.’

Florida to execute man who killed wife and stepdaughter in 1992

TALLAHASSEE Fla. (Reuters) - A man convicted
of fatally shooting his sleeping wife, then raping
and murdering her 10-year-old daughter, was
scheduled to die by injection Thursday evening
at Florida State Prison after spending almost
half his life on death row.
Attorneys for Chadwick Banks, 43,
unsuccessfully challenged the state's lethal-
injection methods and argued that his post-
conviction legal representation was inadequate.
Banks, shot his sleeping wife, Cassandra Banks,
at their mobile home near Quincy in north
Florida in 1992. He was arrested four days later
and confessed that he then killed his
stepdaughter, Melody Cooper, after sexually
assaulting her.
Evidence and trial testimony indicated Banks
was drinking and shooting pool at a
neighborhood bar with his wife on the night of
the crimes. She went home and Banks followed
an hour later.
Banks was sentenced to death in 1994 for the
child's slaying and to life in prison for his
wife's murder. After some 20 years of appeals
in the case, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed
Banks' death warrant in September.
It would be the 20th execution of Scott's first
term in office, one fewer than former Governor
Jeb Bush presided over in two terms as
governor, according to the Florida Department
of Corrections website. Scott was re-elected
this month to his second four-year term.
It would also be the 89th execution in Florida
since the death penalty was reinstated in the
United States in 1976.
This version of the story corrects first
paragraph to show that the 10-year-old was the
daughter of Banks' wife)

Obama plan to shield up to 5 million immigrants from deportation: NY Times

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack
Obama plans to announce an overhaul of U.S.
immigration policy through executive action
that would shield up to 5 million undocumented
immigrants from deportation, the New York
Times reported on Thursday.
Such a move will set up a showdown with
Republicans, who have blocked Democrats'
efforts in Congress to reform immigration laws
and warned the president not to take unilateral
action on immigration.
The Times, citing unidentified administration
officials with direct knowledge of the plan, said
Obama's proposed overhaul may be announced
as soon as next week. Officials said it would
allow many parents of children who are U.S.
citizens or legal residents to obtain work
documents and stay in the United States.
The Times said Obama's plan will provide more
opportunities for immigrants with high-tech
skills and add security resources to the border
with Mexico. Undocumented immigrants with
family ties in the United States and no criminal
record also would be considered lower priority
for deportation than those with criminal
records or who are considered security risks.
Republicans, who won control of Congress in
Nov. 4 elections, have warned Obama not to
take unilateral action on immigration.
Obama told congressional leaders last Friday he
was committed to using executive powers to
ease some restrictions on undocumented
immigrants since Republicans in the House of
Representatives had refused to advance
immigration legislation.
Mitch McConnell, who will be Senate majority
leader starting in January, said if Obama took
unilateral action on immigration, it would be
like "waving a red flag in front of a bull."
When the new Congress convenes in January,
Republicans will have majorities in both
chambers.

'I Wish I had All My Kids from One Woman' - Tuface Idibia

Tuface has seven kids from three different
women – Annie Idibia (his wife), Sumbo Ajaba
(now Mrs Adeoye) and Pero Adeniyi. And in a
new chat with Black House Media, the super

weren't from one woman. Tubaba said:
“I didn’t plan for me to have kids from

About what he would have become if he wasn’t
a musician, Tuface continued:
“You know like I said, me and music, it
wasn’t a co-incidence. So, I have never, never
thought of doing anything else. But there was
one point in time that I was really, really into

Late Abiola’s Wife Sues PDP Over Presidential Elections

Professor Akasoba Duke-Abiola, a founding
member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
and aspirant for the 2015 presidential election,
has filed a suit before a Federal High Court in
Abuja, the country’s capital, against the party
for denying her an Expression of Interest Form
after she paid the mandatory sum for
acquisition of the form, Pm news reports.
Abiola, wife of late businessman and acclaimed
winner of the 12 June, 1993 presidential
election, Chief Moshood Olawale Abiola, said
she was denied of the form by the party after
paying N2 million and obtaining a receipt of
payment from the party’s headquarters in
Abuja.
In the suit with number FHC/ABJ/CS/836/14,
and in which she joined the Independent
National Electoral Commission, INEC, she is
seeking a perpetual injunction barring the PDP
from holding the presidential primary election.
She is also seeking the court to bar INEC from
recognising President Goodluck Jonathan as
the party’s candidate with an argument that
the party had failed to meet electoral
requirements as stipulated in its own
constitution as well as the country’s Electoral
Act.
