Tragedy struck in Lagos, on Thursday, on the
Eko Bridge, when a driver of a saloon car,
identified to be the son of a former governor
of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, died in
an auto accident.
The incident reportedly occurred around 3.30
p.m, when the deceased, identified as
Adebola Ladoja, was driving a Volkswagen
Golf car with Lagos registration number AKD
107 CJ.

The deceased was said to be driving toward
Lagos Island when a DAF truck, with
registration number JJJ 59 XA driven by one
Osaghai Justice Eko, crushed his vehicle.
It was gathered that the driver of the truck
lost control and hit the median in the middle
of the road, before crushing the car driven by
the former governor’s son.
“It took several hours before those who
came to the rescue of the victim could break
into the vehicle. He was trapped behind the
wheel with blood gushing out of his head as
a result of the impact,” an eyewitness said.
The eyewitness added that it was the timely
arrival of policemen and officials of the
Lagos State Traffic Management Agency
(LASMA) that saved the driver, as the crowd
almost lynched him.
The image maker in charge of the state
police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the
incident to the Nigerian Tribune, adding that
the police had commenced investigations on
the incident.
She added that the victim died on the spot,
while his remains had been removed to the
Lagos Island General Hospital mortuary for
